Haloyiannis - Step into Paradise on Andros Island

At Floraison, we are continually drawn to places that offer quietness, peace, beauty and culture. Hidden within the quiet folds of the Greek island of Andros, in the peaceful village of Aladino just 4.5 kilometres from Chora, lies a retreat that does just that. Haloyiannis.

Created by founders who once lived career-driven, high-pressure lives themselves, this all-inclusive escape is built on understanding. Understanding of the need to relax, to be quiet and to enjoy what's around you. Their answer is deeply personal: a tailored, immersive stay designed around each guest’s emotional and practical needs. They offer everything you would want from a relaxing, homely and cosy stay on Andros Island.

A Village With Soul

Aladino offers a rare kind of stillness, it is undiscovered but untamed too. The landscape opens into expansive Aegean light, where sun-washed stone, slow food, and inherited traditions form the rhythm of daily life. Guests are invited to immerse themselves fully: local gastronomy, island ethics, unfiltered nature, and the particular magic that only the Cyclades can offer. “What could be better,” the founders often reflect, “than retreating to a small village hidden on a Greek island?” It is perspective, and when you're searching for that ideal summer retreat, quiet corners to read, a summer mid afternoon nap or an evening stroll is essential.

Two Villas, One Story of Heritage

The retreat comprises two restored villas, positioned 150 metres apart on separate plots, allowing both privacy and the option to host larger groups wishing to gather together.

Anedrada, originally built in 1934 by local craftsmen, stands as a testament to Andriot architecture. Constructed from schistolithic stone and mature cypress wood, its walls nearly a metre thick and ceilings soaring over four metres echo the grand homes of early 19th-century merchants and sailors. Remarkably, such houses are typically found in Chora rather than in the villages, making its presence in Aladino all the more distinctive. Throughout its life, Anedrada has remained a lived-in home — even serving the local community during the Second World War as a place where residents gathered to receive meals distributed during occupation. Its restoration honours this layered past while offering modern comfort without excess.

Armoloe, built around 1820 according to local deed records, tells a quieter, almost poetic story. After the passing of its last resident in the 1940s, the house fell into abandonment. The roof collapsed. Years later, a severe winter storm brought down its front wall. What remained were fragments of extraordinary craftsmanship, window and door frames shaped by techniques no longer commonly practised on the island.

Rebuilding Armoloe required sourcing artisans capable of reviving these historic methods — a challenge the owners embraced as a responsibility rather than a burden. Today, the villa stands not as a replica, but as a continuation - and it's ready for you to explore!

Standout Service

The experience extends beyond architecture. A discreet, intuitive team provides personalised service that anticipates rather than reacts. From curated excursions across Andros’ lesser-known landscapes to tailored gastronomic experiences, every detail is considered. It is typically Greek in style, white walls, colours, florals and incredibly homely, it is a home away from home without the hustle and bustle of a huge resort - a very nice change! What distinguishes Haloyiannis from the rest is not simply its aesthetic or setting, but its emotional intention. It was created by individuals who understand burnout and who believe that stepping away, properly, is not a luxury but a necessity.

Under the expansive Aegean sky, with stone walls that have weathered centuries and stories embedded in their foundations, guests are invited to recalibrate, so whether you're travelling with friends and family, or you're on a solo trip to recalibrate, Haloyiannis can offer you all you need and more, on this stunning island of Andros.
